Jose Mourinho, manager of SL Benfica, has admitted that he would rather win the league title than complete a season unbeaten.
Despite going through the campaign without losing a single match, the Portuguese side also failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Mourinho has now stated that he would have preferred ending the season with a major trophy to celebrate.
“The unbeatable thing is a great thing,” Mourinho said.
“It’s the first time in my career. Even winning eight championships, I never did it invincible.
“I would change that for the title with two or three defeats, no doubts about that.”
Benfica rounded off the season with a 3-1 victory over Estoril Praia, thanks to goals from Richard Ríos, Alexander Bah and Rafa Silva.
