The Nigerian Senate has confirmed that an additional 30,000 youths will be recruited into the Nigeria Police Force.
This was disclosed by Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori, who chairs the Senate Committee on Police Affairs and represents Jigawa North East, during a media briefing in his office.
He revealed that the Police Service Commission has been granted the authority to proceed with the recruitment of new officers.
Senator Madori explained that the Federal Government has approved the enlistment of 30,000 young Nigerians this year as part of efforts to enhance security coverage and address the existing shortage of personnel in the police force.
“According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the commission go ahead to recruit the number every year to fill the gap in the Force.”
He also mentioned that the official recruitment notice will be published in national newspapers and cautioned the public to stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
