Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is preparing to lead a nationwide prayer effort aimed at reviving Nigeria’s struggling economy.

The announcement comes in the context of deepening financial difficulties affecting the country.

The special prayer session is scheduled to take place during RCCG’s July 2025 thanksgiving service, which will carry the theme “Divine Intervention.” The event will be hosted at the church’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos.

Speaking on behalf of Pastor Adeboye, his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, highlighted the importance of faith and action in addressing current national challenges.

“Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt,” he said.

Pastor Adeboye encouraged citizens to replace negative speech with faith-driven thinking, expressing hope that divine assistance could shift the country’s economic direction.

He explained that the prayer event is intended to initiate a period of national renewal and unlock “divine opportunities” for growth and stability.

Adding to this, Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Assistant Pastor in Charge of RCCG’s Province 1, emphasized that such divine opportunities are typically revealed to those who maintain a strong spiritual connection.

He also noted that a prayer team has been actively interceding for Nigeria throughout the second half of the year, with a focus on key sectors such as the economy, environment, and national peace.
