On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered Mrs. Favour Kanu, the wife of Prince Fineboy Kanu Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother to be excluded from attending future court sessions after she was caught broadcasting the proceedings live on Facebook.

Nnamdi Kanu, who leads the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is currently facing terrorism charges brought by the Federal Government.

Presiding judge Justice James Omotosho issued the ruling after Mrs. Favour acknowledged her actions and apologized to the court. The judge noted that her conduct could have warranted a charge of contempt.

Though Kanu’s senior counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, also extended an apology on her behalf, the court maintained that Mrs. Favour would be prohibited from attending the next three hearings.

Justice Omotosho expressed his dismay, stating that despite having her phone seized during the previous sitting for recording in the courtroom, she still went on to upload the video online.

“I want to hear from her. Were you not the one that I took your phone?

“I did not give an order to forfeit that phone. I don’t know if she might be a wife to my brother (Nnamdi Kanu),” the judge said, but Prince told the judge that she is his wife.
