Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has announced a change to the curfew affecting the use of motorcycles and tricycles within Minna city.
The update was made public through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibrahim Bologi, in Minna.
The revised curfew hours are now set from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The governor explained that the modification follows recent intelligence and security briefings from the state’s security committee.
He reaffirmed his administration’s ongoing collaboration with security agencies to review the curfew’s effectiveness and introduce further changes if required.
Governor Bago urged residents to comply with the curfew and reiterated his government’s dedication to enacting policies aimed at improving public welfare and safety.
Previously, on April 23, the state government imposed a restriction on motorcycle and tricycle movements from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in response to a surge in youth violence.
