According to Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), there are numerous facts regarding attempts to spread lies against suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

He claims that this is an attempt to prevent the Governor from returning to the Brick House.

Eze said, “This will be a shame to us all if we keep quiet and allow this evil to sail through.”

Eze condemned what he called a futile attempt by the camp of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to spread a false story intended to undermine the integrity of Governor Fubara in a statement released Tuesday in Port-Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

He brought up the recent press briefing given by George Nwaeke, the former Head of Service of Rivers State, who said that the former HoS was under duress to make some harsh remarks about the suspended governor.

According to ZINGTIE, Nwaeke claimed during the press briefing that the Governor used his Chief of Staff Edison Ehie and former Obio/Akpor Council Chairman Chijioke Ihunwo to plan the fire that destroyed the House of Assembly Complex.

Additionally, he complimented the President for imposing emergency rule on the State and blamed the Governor for the entire political mess.

ZINGTIE also remembers that the previous Head of Service’s wife, however, raised an alarm to refute the false story after seeing her husband’s press address.

She said that her husband had left the house to travel to Abuja at the request of his friend Mr. Ogidi, a National Population Commission Commissioner from Abua and a supporter of the FCT Minister.

In a subsequent interview, the woman reiterated that her husband’s resignation as Head of Service was due to his refusal to join a plot to indict the Governor in a $15 billion fraud.

She claimed that her husband resigned because he did not sign the letter accusing the governor of embezzling $15 billion.

In his remarks, Eze charged that the FCT Minister was violating his own principal, President Bola Tinubu, by doing everything in his power to sabotage any attempts at peace and stability in Rivers State.

According to him, the FCT Minister’s primary goal is to guarantee Fubara’s unjust suspension from office for all time.

“An interest that runs antithetical to democratic norms and the collective stance of Rivers people,” Eze, a former Spokesman to the defunct New Peoples Democratic, nPDP, said.

He added that “with the unhealthy vendetta of George Nwaeke against the Governor, facts abound that the Sole Administrator has a new mandate; to concoct a floodgate of falsehood against Gov. Fubara with full media support, in a bid to stop the Governor from coming back to the Brick House. This will be a shame to us all if we keep quiet and allow this evil to sail through.”

Eze commended the wife of the former Head of Service, “who, having known her husband as a man of sound moral, quickly raised the alarm in an attempt to safeguard the integrity of Mr. Nwaeke and that of her family, which has been discredited in the circumstance.”

He urged ‘Tinubu to stand on the path of truth and not on the potpourri of false narratives and cocktail of lies served him by those who have declared themselves enemies of the state and are hellbent on stifling Nigeria’s nascent democracy under the Tinubu administration, in pursuit of some selfish, private vendetta.”
