The Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has joined the campaign structure of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Musa was appointed Secretary I of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council and has subsequently pledged his commitment to the campaign.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the minister expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for entrusting him with the responsibility.

Musa described the appointment as an opportunity to take on a higher level of service and responsibility within the party’s campaign structure.

He assured the APC leadership, stakeholders and supporters that he would approach the assignment with dedication, diligence and a strong sense of focus.

The Defence Minister, however, emphasised that his constitutional duties remain his foremost responsibility.

He stressed that protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity, as well as safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, would continue to be his primary mandate.
