Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has publicly welcomed anyone interested in visiting him at the Department of State Services (DSS) detention center.

This open invitation came as a response to a recent decision by the High Court in Kenya concerning the circumstances of his extradition to Nigeria.

The announcement was made by Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, on Friday following a routine visit to his client.

Kanu was re-arrested by security forces in June 2021 and brought back to Nigeria through what has been described as an extraordinary rendition.

However, on June 24, a High Court in Nairobi, Kenya, declared that the manner in which Kanu was transferred was both unlawful and illegal.

In response to the ruling, Kanu expressed appreciation to his legal team and his relatives, describing the court’s decision as a significant legal victory.

Posting on X, Ejimakor wrote: “Rising from today’s visitation, MAZI NNAMDI KANU took the opportunity to hail his lawyers & siblings for the stunning victory from Kenya.

“He also extended an open invitation to anybody (who is in doubt about his messages thru his lawyers) to personally pay him a visit at the DSS.”
