Former Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency, REA, Board, Ayo Fayose, has weighed in on the ongoing disagreement between Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors’ Forum.

ZINGTIE reports that members of the forum, led by its chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, had rejected association with Wike’s Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.

In a viral video, Uzodimma appeared to take a veiled swipe at the FCT Minister, stating that APC governors would not back any alliance or political arrangement that, in his view, could jeopardise President Bola Tinubu’s re-election or undermine the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Hours after Uzodimma’s remarks, Wike responded during an interview on Arise TV, taking aim at the governors and describing them as smart but politically lazy.

The minister also insisted that he would not assist the governors in securing victory in their respective states, stressing that the coalition is limited to Rivers State.

Speaking on the development during an appearance on Channels TV on Tuesday night, Fayose said, “Nigerians know who Wike is and the institution, the Governors’ Forum, and they are both saying different things in different ways.”

The former governor stated that the disagreement involving Wike and the governors “has nothing to do with the winning of the president”.

“But don’t forget, everybody has his own ego. Every one of us, including myself,” he added.
