Two teams have officially become the first casualties of the ongoing FIFA World Cup competition after failing to secure qualification from the group stage.
The countries confirmed to be out of the tournament are Haiti and Turkey.
Haiti became the first nation to be mathematically ruled out of the competition.
Their exit was confirmed after suffering a 3-0 loss to Brazil in Philadelphia on Friday.
The defeat left Haiti without a single point from their opening two matches in Group C, ending any hopes of progressing to the Round of 32.
Prior to the loss against Brazil, the Caribbean nation had already fallen 1-0 to Scotland in their opening fixture.
Turkey has also seen its World Cup campaign come to an early conclusion following a narrow 1-0 defeat against Paraguay.
The result means the Turkish side can no longer qualify for the knockout phase after losing both of their opening group matches to Australia and Paraguay.
Despite having one group fixture remaining, Turkey’s chances of advancing have already been extinguished.
They will now play the United States of America, USA, in their final group-stage encounter.
