The Presidency has mocked opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, following the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s victory in last Saturday’s bye-elections.

On Monday morning, Bayo Onanuga, the presidential spokesperson, posted a picture of Atiku, Peter Obi, and other ADC members on his X account along with the question, “How is the market now?”

He made no mention of individuals, but it was obvious that he was alluding to the opposition in the just held election.

Following the general elections in 2023, the elections were held to replace lawmakers who had passed away or resigned.

Twelve of the sixteen bye-election seats that were held in August 2025 were won by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that elections were held in 12 states, with some reports citing 13 of them, including Zamfara, where the results were deemed inconclusive.

According to ZINGTIE, the APC won 12 seats, followed by the APGA with 2, the PDP with 1, and the NNPP with 1.
