President Bola Tinubu has named the people he believes are to blame for the nation’s food shortage and claims they are determined to throw the country into a crisis.

He made this statement yesterday in Abuja during the Ministry of Finance Incorporated’s inaugural Public Wealth Management Conference.

The president, represented by his vice, Kashim Shettima, stated emphatically that “those who could not get into power through the ballot box” and “they are so desperate” rather than waiting for the next election in 2027. To them, it doesn’t matter if our country disintegrates. We’re going to hold off on them.

After identifying the people he believes are to blame for the nation’s food shortage,

The president declared that Nigeria was genuinely on the road to recovery despite those attempting to impose widespread beliefs overseas and food scarcity on the nation.

“We are on the path to redemption. We have to make this country work. We have to move beyond politics. We are now in the governance phase.

“Sadly, some of our countrymen are still in the political mode. They are the practitioners of violence advocating that they are Nigerian, which our own country, our one and only Nigeria, should go to Venezuela way.

“Some are agitating that we should go the Lebanon way. But Nigeria is greater than any one of us here. Nigeria will weather the storm,” Tinubu said.

President Tinubu called on Nigerians to come together against what he called forces determined to undermine the country, alluding to the 45 trucks of grains that were recently seized by Nigerian police and purportedly laden with wheat from Nigeria and bound for the Benin Republic.

“Just three nights ago, 45 trucks of maize were caught being transported to a neighboring country. In that Ilella axis, they’re 32 illegal smuggling routes and the moment those goods were intercepted, the price of maize fell by N10,000”, he said.
