It has been claimed that a pregnant woman who was abducted en route to the hospital for childbirth gave birth at the kidnappers’ hideout in Egede, Udi local government area, Enugu State.

The mom gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the bush during the alleged incident that occurred last Monday.

The woman, whose identity was revealed as Chinwendu Igwe, was reportedly present when the incident occurred along with her two other young children, who were between the ages of two and four.

The woman’s husband, Mr Ekene Igwe, told reporters that he had paid an N1.6 million ransom before his wife and the baby were freed from the Egede woodland, where the kidnappers had demanded that he deposit the ransom.

Igwe said that a nice motorcyclist had saved his two children after the kidnappers had left them for dead on the side of the road.

“I paid a ransom of N1.6 million before I could get my wife and the newborn baby,” he said.

Attakwu Akegbe Ugwu Awkunanaw native Igwe expressed gratitude to God for returning them.
