People have always aspired to live longer, and we have progressed. In the Middle Ages, turning forty was regarded as fortunate. These days, living to be ninety or even a hundred years old is not uncommon.

An antique newspaper mentioned a man named Li Ching-Yuen, who is reputed to have lived to be 256 years old. A few historical records wished him a happy 150th and 200th birthday. Those who knew him claimed that even as a young child, he was already an adult.

Li began working with herbs at the age of ten, and for the next forty years, he ate primarily plants. In addition, he consumed foods like ginseng, goji berries, and rice wine. When he was 71, he became a martial arts teacher in the Chinese army.

He is said to have had almost 200 children from his 23 marriages. However, he claimed to know a 500-year-old man who taught him how to live a long life through exercise and a specific diet.

Li responded, “Stay calm, move like certain animals, and sleep well,” when asked how he had lived for so long. You should still heed his advice even if you don’t think his narrative is true.
