The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has clarified the meanings of the “Not Admitted,” “Admission in Progress,” and “Admitted” statuses shown to candidates on the Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS.

The Board provided the clarification in an explainer video released on Thursday, advising candidates to regularly check their CAPS for updates as the admission exercise continues.

On the meaning of the “Not Admitted” status, JAMB said, “This simply means you’ve not been offered admission yet. However, it does not necessarily mean you will not be admitted.”

The Board urged candidates who still have the “Not Admitted” status to continue monitoring their CAPS in case their admission status changes.

JAMB further explained that the “Admission in Progress” status may mean that an institution has recommended the candidate for admission, but the process has not yet been finalised.
