Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly on course for a swift return to international duty.
The country’s football federation confirmed on Saturday that the 41-year-old had been suspended over an incident involving his departure from camp during the UEFA Nations League in September.
However, indications now suggest that Ronaldo could serve a suspension lasting just one month.
The Al Nassr forward could therefore be available for Portugal’s fixtures during the November international break.
“The Federation, the coach, all the teammates are aligned: we want Cristiano back. I expect him back already during the November international break,” FPF president, Pedro Proença, said.
“Cristiano is also willing to return. He’s the best of all time.”
