In the midst of the prolonged conflict with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has stated that he is willing to consider a peaceful resolution.

Remember that on Monday, in an attempt to resolve the state’s political disagreement, the governor and other relevant parties signed an eight-point agreement in Abuja.

Following a meeting at the State House with President Bola Tinubu, Wike, Fubara, and other stakeholders, an agreement was achieved.

Speaking on Tuesday at the PAMO University of Medical Sciences’ 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies in Iriebe Town, Fubara discussed the eight-point resolutions that the stakeholders had made in an attempt to put an end to the conflict between the two. He stated that he was willing to pay the price for peace.

In order to promote development, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining harmony within the state and among its citizens.

“No price will be too big to pay to ensure that peace prevails,” he declared.

Additionally, Governor Fubara gave the people of the state assurances that his government will guarantee access to high-quality healthcare and education in the state.

He said: “While some progress has been made, it is obvious that a lot still needs to be done to achieve our collective aspirations for universal access to quality education and healthcare for our people.

“I need not say that no society can progress without educated and healthy people.”
