Controversial Nigerian artist Portable has publicly accused First Bank of being involved in an alleged attempt to kidnap him.

In a widely circulated video posted on his Instagram page, the singer claimed he narrowly escaped being abducted while visiting one of the bank’s locations.

He alleged that the bank was monitoring his movements, stating that his only wrongdoing was asking for clarification on why his account had been frozen.

Sharing details of the incident in a now-removed video, Portable insisted he was not engaged in any fraudulent dealings, adding that the reported N400 billion in the account was connected to a legitimate business transaction.

“I’m being trailed from First Bank to kidnap me. Who are those people trailing me. What’s my offense? I no dey do yahoo or scam. Customer is always right. That account is a business account and more money is still coming in. Please I need help ooo.

“All I did was to complain. A customer is always right. That account is a business account with over M400 billion.”

His statements come amidst the growing social media controversy surrounding the arrest of well-known critic VeryDarkMan on Friday, May 2, following his visit to a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) branch to raise concerns about a suspected withdrawal from his mother’s account.
